Questions, answered straight

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Estimates are always free and there is no obligation to book. We come look at the tree, talk it through, and send you an honest written price.

Are you a certified arborist?

Yes. The owner is an ISA Certified Arborist, so the person planning your removal or pruning is trained to do it safely and without needlessly harming the tree.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Timberline is fully licensed and insured in Rhode Island, and we are happy to send proof of insurance before we start. This matters a great deal when heavy work happens next to your house.

What towns do you serve?

We are based in North Kingstown and cover South County and western Rhode Island, including East Greenwich, Exeter, South Kingstown, and Coventry. If you are nearby and not sure, just ask.

Do I really need to remove the tree, or can it be saved?

Often it can be saved. A dead or hazardous tree should come out, but many trees just need pruning, or cabling and bracing to support a weak limb. As an arborist we tell you straight, and we do not sell removals a tree does not need.

Can you take down a tree close to my house or wires?

Yes. When there is no clear drop zone we rig the tree down in controlled pieces, protecting the roof, fence, and beds the whole way. That careful rigging is exactly the kind of removal we do.

Do you respond to storm emergencies?

Yes. When a tree comes down on your house, drive, or wires in a storm, we respond fast, assess what is under tension before anyone touches it, and clear it safely. We also document the work for your insurance.

Do you grind the stump too?

We can. Stump grinding is a separate service we handle in the same visit or later. We grind well below grade and leave you grindings you can rake out and seed or plant over.

What do you do with the wood and debris?

Your choice. We cut the wood to whatever length you want and stack it, or haul it away, and we rake the site clean and haul the brush as agreed.

How soon can you come out?

For an estimate, usually within a few days. Emergency storm work comes first and we respond as fast as we safely can. Scheduled removals and pruning depend on the season and the size of the job, and we give you a real timeline in the quote.
